1. Co-Creation at Its Best: Why This Mount Is Your Achievement
When designing the stuul®, our mission was clear: to create an alternative to the traditional medical-looking plastic stool. We wanted to create an ergonomic piece of art that would blend seamlessly into modern bathrooms as a two-piece design feature.
However, daily bathroom life has its own rules. We kept hearing similar stories from our customers:
- 'I love my Stuul®, but my robot vacuum gets stuck on it.'
- 'When I quickly mop the bathroom, I always have to lift it onto the sink first.'
- 'Is there a way to hang it right next to the toilet — ergonomic, within reach and hygienic?'
It was these requests that prompted us to act. We knew immediately that we didn't want to buy a cheap, mass-produced universal bracket. Instead, we set out to design our own accessory that embodies every detail of the stuul® philosophy.

2. From Quirky Prototypes to the Perfect Shape: The Design Diary
Anyone who thinks designing a wall hook takes five minutes clearly doesn't understand our design standards. Our goal was ambitious: the design of the wall mount had to mirror the DNA of the stuul®.
Specifically, we wanted to replicate the iconic, organic shape of the stuul® handle hole as a negative space inside the mount itself.
When prototypes cause laughs 😅
The journey was - to put it mildly - entertaining. The initial CAD drawings and 3D prints looked promising on paper. However, when we held the physical prototypes in our hands for the first time, our team couldn't help but laugh out loud. The curved, ergonomic shape bore an astonishing resemblance to... well, an adult toy!
After the initial shock (and a few hilarious meetings), we went straight back to the drawing board. Countless iterations, millimetre adjustments and radius refinements followed.
The final result is an elegant, minimalist hook that resembles a modern sculpture when empty and almost disappears under the stuul® when in use.
3. Made in Munich: Regional, sustainable and 3D printed
A great design deserves equally thoughtful manufacturing. Instead of producing massive injection moulds overseas and shipping containers across oceans, we have chosen a more sustainable approach: We use additive 3D printing right here in Munich.
Our sustainability highlights at a glance:
- 🇩🇪 Local production: Designed and manufactured in Munich. This guarantees ultra-short shipping routes to your doorstep.
- 🌿 Eco-friendly material (PLA): The wall mount is printed from PLA (polylactic acid). This material is made from renewable resources such as cornstarch and is both biodegradable and 100% recyclable.
- ♻️ Resource-efficient: 3D printing only uses the exact amount of material required for the product. There is zero waste and zero excess plastic.
Weighing in at a featherlight 4 grams, the mount proves how smart lightweight engineering can be without compromising on strength.
4. Installation and daily use: It's easy as 1-2-3!
We designed the wall mount so that you don't need a drill or any handyman skills. Your bathroom tiles will remain completely undamaged!
Mount in three simple steps:
- Peel off the film. The heavy-duty, moisture-resistant adhesive tape is pre-installed on the back of the mount.
- Stick it on: Choose your favourite spot near the toilet (on tiles, plaster or wood) and press the mount firmly in place for 10-15 seconds.
- Hang & Enjoy: Simply hang your stuul® from above onto the hook.
💡 Two pro tips for perfect handling:
To ensure your stuul® sits securely and looks flawless on the wall, bear these two quick steps in mind:
- Tip 1 (Logo): Make sure the embossed 'stuul' lettering is readable from the front when hung.
- Tip 2 (Triangle): The triangular handle hole should point upwards when docked.
Tested in real life: you might need to check the alignment the first two or three times, but it will become second nature in no time! We've been using the mount in our own bathrooms for weeks now and wouldn't want to live without it!
