There are many other very appealing products that go very well with our toilet stool, such as the mobile bidet from Bidetlity. Now a book has been published that is the ideal toilet literature to go with our toilet stool. The book "Kau dich schlank" by weight loss coach and chewing trainer Barbara Plaschka

Our book tip for anyone who wants to do something for their digestion and doesn't mind losing a few unwanted pounds in the process.

Daniel (Founder stuul):

Barbara, please take us on a brief tour. What is your book about?

Barbara:

Finally about "HOW" we eat. Because we have treated this very poorly in recent decades. It's always been about "WHAT" we eat, or what we are NOT allowed to eat in order to lose weight and be healthy. People who want to lose weight often no longer want to tackle the issue of a feel-good weight because of all the rules and prohibitions. I can totally understand that. After all, it's no fun having to give up everything and then being "rewarded" with the yo-yo effect. In "Chew yourself slim", I show you how you can start your weight loss journey together with your sense of taste. You learn to pay more attention to your bites and are rewarded with a better sense of your own satiety signals. Of course, the portions you eat will become smaller as a result - but without focusing on counting calories or points. The essence of the book is: "Enjoyment up - weight down"

Daniel:

Do we lack the right bite?

Barbara:

Yes, unfortunately. Thanks to soft rolls, smoothies and shakes, our teeth hardly have anything to do. What's more, we often pay very little attention to our food. It has to be prepared and eaten quickly. That's why snacking is so widespread. Observe the people around you and, of course, yourself. How quickly do you swallow? How much do you taste of what you are eating?

Swallowing quickly is comparable to only watching the trailer of a movie in the cinema. You get the highlights, but you miss out on the highs and lows of the whole story.

Daniel:

And why is chewing so important now?

Barbara:

Chewing is intestinal love in action! If you pay more attention to the bite and chew it better, you make your intestines very happy. Because it can - according to its qualifications - take care of the part of digestion for which it is responsible in peace and quiet. Namely the absorption of the wonderful nutrients from our food. If we serve it large chunks of food - by gulping it down quickly - it can do its job much less well. We notice this by the fact that our gastrointestinal tract often pinches or that we are often tired after eating

Daniel:

But tell me, every child can chew. What's there to learn?

Barbara:

Chewing is fine, but swallowing needs to be learned. In our previous habits, we simply swallow large chunks too soon. The swallowing reflex has the "pants" on and it all happens quite unconsciously. We can learn again that the tongue has a kind of watchdog role. It decides what can be swallowed when the swallowing reflex comes knocking. Everything liquid and mushy can be swallowed at any time. Everything coarse and large is chewed further.

Daniel:

So it's not the good old "chew 30 times" rule?

Barbara:

Exactly. I was never really happy with it. And when I look around me, others feel the same way. If we chew 30 times before we swallow for the first time, we bypass the natural reflex of wanting to swallow. In the long run, this is of course very tiring and against nature. That's why I'm a big fan of consciously swallowing between meals - but only what has already been chewed well. And that's exactly what you can get back into the habit of doing.

Daniel:

You can certainly find out exactly how to do this in your book "Chew yourself slim".

Barbara:

That's right. In my book I explain the whole technique and also go into what you can do wrong at the beginning. It's important to know that it takes some time to practice in order to re-set your eating habits. But it is possible at any time - no matter how old you are. Thanks to neuroplasticity, our brain is always able to store new movement patterns to form habits. And we should take advantage of this so that we no longer have to struggle with diets in future, but can get out of the diet jungle with our sense of taste on board.

Daniel:

Thank you very much Barbara, it was - once again - very interesting and I think our readers were able to gain a lot from it. I can only recommend your book "Chew yourself slim" to anyone who wants to delve deeper into the subject. It is written in a very lively way, is very well structured and contains lots of interesting graphics and illustrations. Really everyone can benefit from reading this book!
